Red Noah is one of the three space-arks used by Atlanteans to leave their home in Nebula M78 and reach the Earth. It is disguised as a moving island on which take place between episodes 27 and episode 31. Red Noah finally reveals its nature when Nadia and Jean enter the ship in episode 30-31, as a giant flying saucer operated by a sentient android, which wants to bring Nadia to Atlantis in order to start a new Atlantean empire. Eventually, Red Noah is retrieved by Gargoyle, who uses it as the final weapon for the restoration of Neo Atlantis and the subjugation of the human race. It would utilize its Tower of Babel to destroy various islands in order to force humanity into servitude once more, but would ultimately be destroyed by the sacrifice of Captain Nemo and his N-Nautilus.

Technical specifications[]

Red Noah is an Orpheus Furnace-equipped vessel the size of an island (Super Robot Wars X claiming it to be 12.7 kilometers in diameter), its shadow being able to cover a large portion of Paris. Utilizing Atlantean technology, it is capable of spaceflight and can hover midair without any visible propulsion. It is also bristling with weaponry, despite being a colonization vessel - a testament to the Atlanteans' warlike nature before their colonization of Earth. However, in order to unleash its true power, it requires the completed Blue Water.

Red Noah's weapons include a ring of energy cannons that cover all directions, as well as powerful lasers fired from eye-like emitters. Its main weapon during the final battle is the aforementioned Tower of Babel, able to use the Slave Star network orbiting Earth to strike any target on the globe. It is possible other weapons were also present aboard the ship but were dysfunctional or otherwise unavailable for use by the forces of Neo Atlantis. Defensively, a hundred-million volt EM barrier protects the ship, requiring an overboost ramming from the N-Nautilus to break through.

The Tower of Babel in particular was reliant on a piston-like igniter in particular - something the Grandis Gang were able to exploit to bring it offline at the cost of having to scuttle the Gratan.

Trivia[]

  • Red Noah takes design inspiration from stereotypical flying saucers.
  • In Super Robot Wars X, Red Noah under the command of Gargoyle appears as a boss during the story mode of the game, covering an alternate timeline where the existence of X-Cross results in Red Noah being destroyed without the sacrifices of Nemo, the N-Nautilus, or Gratan. Its attack sees it fire an energy cannon volley before unleashing one of its lasers.
    • Amusingly, the way certain player unit attacks work can result in Red Noah being tossed around by attacks from much smaller mecha despite its immense size.
